Our group of 22 did this cruise in June 2012. The boat was fine (Moon Godess) The temples, Valley of Kings etc were great. However our holiday was marred by the aggressive and overwhelming attention of hawkers. We heard that tourism is down about 70% due to political unrest and so maybe we were subjected to disproportionate hassles! From the... More

Well worth the 4 hour coach ride across the desert from Aswan. Take all the photos u want outside there are none allowed within the temples. Be aware of Egyptian street sellers as they can be forceful & persistent. Food is expensive & snacks likewise. Buy the £3 folder of photographs for remembering the inside details of this magnificent site.... More

On November 1st, 2011, I was in Egypt on business. My company, Safetytoes International Inc., sells the Slipp-R rubber safety overshoe to end-users all over the world and I often go on missionary work where interest in our products is on the uptake. Trips like these have a fair amount of personal discovery too and after a couple of days... More

I visited Egypt about 6 months ago and it was an amazing trip even though the Tahrir Square demonstrations were in full swing. I got the most amazing access to sites since there were no other visitors and the Nile cruise and the ancient Egyptian sites are a unique wonder of the world. The package came from a tour operator... Our boat was the Movenpick hotel. The stay was great, our room had a great view of the Nile that we savoured for a week during our stay on board :) we met some lovely people from around the world and enjoyed the famous Movenpick ice cream on board every day!

The balloon trip started just as the sun was rising. It was amazing to see all the temples, the farmlands and the arid area of the Valley of the Kings from the air. The price we were charged was 500 Egyptian Pounds (about US$80) and it lasted about an hour or so. Magnificant sunrise! The name on the basket of... More

I recently visited Aswan and Luxor in Egypt, although there were several places that i would advise people to visit within these cities as they are very picturesque, the locals pretend they are nice and helpful people. However, they are just looking to rip you off. Obviously we all need to purchase water, food, etc. When you go in to... More
