This is one in the list of my itineraries. Getting there was hard. We got lost twice. My fiance was driving and we relied solely on Waze which gave us not-so-good directions.

Anyway, upon reaching the place, we had to walk upward to get to the church. There was a couple who will be getting married when we got there.

I went in to say a little prayer of thanks. There will be a service barely to start, with the wedding too. We decided not to stay long and hear the service since it will be in the Korean language.

The interior and exterior of the church are so amazing. Who would have thought there is such a jewel in this place? It really was worth the visit despite getting lost along the way.

We finally visited this charming church on our 4th visit to Seoul. It is off the beaten track, and we actually got a little lost but met a friendly elderly couple who were walking to the church to attend evening mass, and they kindly brought us to the church.

It is exactly as what you see in the photos - typical gothic church with beautiful stained glass - but you must be there to feel the peace and tranquility. It is a much smaller church than Myeongdong Cathedral, and is thus very cosy. As we were in time for evening mass, we managed to hear the bells ring out for the start of mass, which was a real treat.

There is a small museum behind the church detailing the beginnings of Catholicism in Korea and the establishment of the church in Yakhyeon.

In all, it's worthwhile making the trip to this find this church. Look out for the "Banquet of Cana" signboard (see photo) and turn left there to enter the church compound. Follow the road to the church. A real haven in Seoul city.
