A place where my husband love to visit. This place is full with shops that filled with handmade items. A place where you can write or draw on their walls and you won't get caught. I love one the cafes that is way on top of the building. People that love art SHOULD visit this place.

This shopping center is located along the Insadong Main street. It has a rather unique design and is interesting to walk between the different floors. They even have a poop/toilet themed cafe on the top floor!

While looking for some snacks before dinner around Insadong, I found this place by accident. Yes, there are some eateries in there, but the attractions are the store and tiny stalls. The whole complex is a three-storied building with a spiraling ramp. As in many parts of this area, these shops, while small are very artsy, selling things that are... More

This building is right on the Insadong main street, you probably will walk by it without realizing that it is not there. It looked very good on the you-tube videos I saw, but frankly it wasn't all that great.A collection of shops in a two story building. So, if you don't have time, I would say that you can avoid it.

This is an Arty Market located in Insadong. The design of this building is unique and great to walk between different floors. The building has many individual shops that offer a good shopping experience with a cafe on the roof.

A good place to buy beautiful souvenirs if you are not travelling lean. Korea is expensive but if you have money to spare why not get and items or two which can be a good reminder of your stay

Another place with unique design in Korea. You wont feel like you climb up so high because you just need to follow the path and you can reach the top without missing any shop to see :)

Staying in Insadong

Neighbourhood Profile
Insadong
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
