We were attracted to visit here because of the name, which sounds really dynamic and exciting. Unfortunately we either got here too early or this is just business as usual, the place was mostly devoid of life. It is also a very short street. Feels like a place where you just eat and go.

I am not sure how this name came about, in the end the entire area is full of restaurants, bars and cafes, like many other areas in Seoul. A couples of blocks on the north side of Cheonggyecheong are full of F&B outlets that come to life at night, typical Korean restaurants, sports bars, western restaurants, cafes etc. Good for a nice dinner in a vibrant atmosphere.

Chose the nearest tent we saw and started ordering what we saw interesting. Tteokbokki, fried big dumpling, braised beef tendon(?) and fish cake (like the oden in Japan). We were each given some soup of the fish cake which was very good.

Next stop, we just shared one big chicken skewer and ate it while looking for the next place to get another. The chicken skewer was really good also!

Last place we went to was the tent at the other end of the Avenue of Youth (the side which across the riverwalk) and had boiled octopus which we dipped in some spicy sauce and had a bottle of soju to go with this with my son. We also had ramyun to share. Everything tasted great and the ramyun seems to have a different spice and charm here in Seoul.

Stumbled upon this area while walking near the river and was blown away by the vibrant night life!

There are chicken and beer bars as far as the eye can see, with everyone drinking and having a good time.

If you are after night life you need to give this place a try.

(All adults. No teeagers. I wish TripAdivisor would modify that option).
Anyways, we went to a $10 all you can eat Korean BBQ. So worth good & worth it. I tried mine w/perilla leaves. It has an earthy grass-like taste; but not bad at all. There's tons of restaurants & bars to choose from bars. And the food vendors are out at night!
There's even a British fisn n' chip pub in the area. Maybe folks in their 20s go there more than the older groups. Great place to walk around in.

I heard Street of Youth was located in Jongno area, so I decide to wander to this area. But I didn't understand why this street called Street of Youth?? There was good place to enjoy the food and alcoholic drink, and many restaurant was operating. There was not different with another entertainment district. There was not bad place, but the name was disagreeable, I think.

We were brought here by our tour agent for lunch at an Indian restaurant here. To me it looked just like any other pedestrian streets with cafes and restaurants. Considering it was lunchtime, I was surprised the street was literally empty.

If you have been to so many of similar Seoul shopping streets or markets, you realised that some of them has names of "total irrevelance." Weird, perhaps!

Just like this one.

This is just a small & very normal shopping street area with usual restaurants, cafes, shops, street stalls, etc. Not extensive like Myeongdong or Hongdae ( lots of youth). Nothing that specifically defines this is a "Youth place."

Frankly, not worth a special trip here. We chanced upon this place while visiting another attraction nearby & were puzzled by the name.

That's the beauty of travelling
F& E. Often one "discovers" unusual somethings or someplaces unintentionally.

Price is reasonable and food is delicious.
This restaurant is all self-service.
