nice Pagoda in outskirts of Yangon. I was the only tourist there when I visited it. nobody expects foreigners, so you can see everything without being asked to pay the entrance fee. I had to wake up the fee collector on my way out, because I wanted to pay. by the way, don't use Grab taxi to get here: since Grab is not available in this area - it will ask for 5-6 times higher rate than just city taxi. also, hire taxi for a round trip (it will cost you ~10k from/to downtown), it's hard to find a free car there.

We had the chance to visit here in the evening when the sun was not too bright and were rewarded for waiting until his time. Lots to see and very colorful but the main pagoda is covered in bamboo and this does detract from the experience . Many side pagodas which were beautiful and worth spending time looking at.

Just breathtaking place to visit. The dedication of the Burmese people to their faith is impressive.

At Kyaik-Khauk Pagoda the views were just superb. It was relatively quiet and peaceful with less people than we had encountered elsewhere.

Located in Thanlyin Township, in southern Yangon Region, Myanmar and one of the popular tourist destination. Drop by for a visit with friends on the way back to hotel where we stay from the industrial area in Thilawa Special Economic Zone.

it was fun to go to the island and interesting to see all the locals that come to worship. I would have liked to have more time to visit the shops on the mainland for photos ie of dried fish and other things found only in Burma

We took a day trip to a nearby town of Thanlyin. We were hoping a Thaipusam Festival would be happening but must have miscalculated.
After seeing Shewedagon in Yangon yesterday, all other pagodas pale in comparison. It wasn't worth it for most of us to take off our shoes and socks and enter.
