Markets

Medium size market that's great if your looking for souvenirs and jade. There were also stalls outside where I purchased a really cool teapot

Didn't buy anything here although there are over 2000 stalls in the market. Jewelry, puppets, traditional clothes, lacquerware galore. Interesting to see see look look.

Bogyoke Market is a big colorful market similar to other large Asian central markets but uniquely Burmese. Its certainly an excellent place to get souvenirs but its also a nice slice of life in Yangon. Lots of energy a fun walk through. My tip would be there are great fresh juice stands, be sure to indulge. I couldn't believe how... More

The Bogyoke Market is huge; filled with a variety of curios, gems, jewelry, longyis, fabrics, offering cups, statues, etc. It was entertaining to walk the stalls and enjoy the ambiance. My favorite shop was Yangoods - modern products with a traditional Burmese twist.

Different region of Burma has its own specialty, but this is a good place to pick up items of various region. The price is decent although quality is not as good as specialty regions ( e.g. lacquerware is really nice in Bagan region).

Bogyoke is a nice Market but not much different to other markets that are around. The local vendors are very friendly and courteous and some of the artwork on display is really nice!

It's a nice to see place if you like to find and browse local handcrafts. Many shops selling more or less same objects but prices might vary pretty much from one to another, hence before buying go around and ask. There are also few shops that are selling particular things not so common in all the others (example I found... More

A large market with lots to buy, but if you've travelled in Asia before it much of the same stuff. Prices were also a little high - yes I know bargaining is the norm, but.....

Want to take home a special Buddha? Some longi cloth? An umbrella? Myanmar T shirt? This busy, colorful market is a one stop shop and there are cute tea rooms to stop at for a cup of chai and a chat with locals.
