Karaweik Palace is an ideal place for those who want to have their dinner with traditional show. One can enjoy Burmese Traditions and culture. At the same time, buffet dinner will be a plus . I recommend both for locals and foreigners.

Although I had lived in Yangon for several years, while visiting in January 2017, I took the initiative for a new experience. I took two guests to the international buffet and culture show at the Karaweik Palace (royal badge) at Kandawgyi Lake. I didn't have reservations until several hours before the dinner and show and had no recommendations that it... More

My wife and I visited for the evening cultural show and dinner. The greeting by the large entrance door was certainly impressive. A huge dining area with a stage at the far end. The buffet serving area is set to one side. Perhaps we were unlucky as there few other guests which made for the sterile atmosphere. The performers were... More

Built in 1960 in the form of a traditional Royal barge of the Kings. Serve dinner with cultural shows. For tourists want to see traditional dance, recommendable. Pricey.

Karaweik Palace is shaped like the Karaweik Royal Barge which was used by Myanmar Kings. There is lunch plus cultural show (some items) and dinner plus cultural show(full show) . The food is not fabulous but goid.Howver the archtecture of the building the settings and the costumes of the staff dressed as royal palace guards, ministers and members of the... More

I have mixed feelings for our visit to this venue. As we walked toward the "boat" we were met by costumed soldiers, ladies offering canapés and obliged us with all the photographs we wanted. Inside the buffet was so-so, although there were a lot of choices nothing stood out, flavor or taste wise. The show was excellent with a variety... More
