Certainly worth a visit , and to look around the church and at the various relics. The church is not always open, but if you meet someone and ask they will allow entry.

One of the oldest churches in Yangon and It is only Armenian Church in Yangon. It's well worth a visit for interesting and a little piece of famous for serving the best . Make sure to check out the timetable before you visit.

A Wooden and bricks Church in Yangon and it is absolutely finest building,ancient style architectural is amazing.

Really impressed with an Armenian church having built 1863 far away at Yangon. Well maintained interior as if the original..recommended to visit it.

Old wooden Armenian church in Yangon.

This is one of the older churches in Yangon made of wood and bricks. The Armenian Christians were one of the sects of Christians in Yangon. This is a wonderfully maintained old church well worth visiting in Yangon,

Oldest church in Yangon built by Armenian migrant merchants (who also did business in Singapore). The icons are quite something else.

Nice place to stop, rest and reflect amidst the busy downtown area

We passed by the church during our walking tour. It was great to have a break for a brief rest. Took the opportunity to pray and reflect in this simple and quiet place with its simple altar and numerous icons/images all around.

Modest Armenian church

Most Armenians who founded this church were traders who settled in Burma in the early 1600s. They were very successful in brokering deals between the Burmese royals and the outside world. The plot of land where this church was built in 1863 was a gift of the Burmese king at the time.

The rectangular building is simple in style. The interior is surprisingly spacious. Behind the altar is a painting of the Last Supper (Jezus seated amidst his disciples who will soon abandon him) perhaps symbolic for the situation of the small Armenian community in Yangon which is decreasing in number.

Wow, spirit of the Orthodox religion in Myanmar and Asia

Having prepared our itinerary for our trip to Myanmar we supremely come across the information about Armenian diaspora and its contribution to Burma and Yangon. since early 18 century . We were lucky to visit the church and enjoyed our Orthodox icons, music...Just got feeling that we were in mini Etchmiadzin Cathedral . Recommend to visit as the part of history of this city .

Armenian church so far away from Armenia

Lonely planet book about Myanmar provided the information about the existence of this unique church epitomising in one sacred building the surprisingly long history of Armenian diaspora in Burma or Myanmar. I had the chance not only to see and photograph the church from outside, but also to be blessed to be allowed to enter the church. The local security staff let me in. I admired the interior of the church where there are also posters about the history of the Armenian community in Burma. The security staff also showed to me the neighbouring chapel with Armenian, Russian, Greek and Serbian icons.

Fascinating history of Rangoon within it's quiet walls

This little church tells the history of the Armenians ( Jews), the development of commerce in Rangoon and construction of the historic buildings in the centre of town.
There is a small illustrated exhibition which is well worth seeing.
