I recommend stopping here if you have time. It is in central Yangon. The building is quite small but the inside is very lovely and in excellent condition. The woman who was in charge was very friendly and spoke excellent English.

It lies on a small crowded side street and is difficult to find. If you did not know it was there, it would be easily missed. It is the last fragment of judism in Myanmar. There are only 8 jewish families left and we were fortunate to meet with the daughter of the recently deceased care taker. Extremely thought provoking... More

Had no trouble locating this synagogue, but stood outside for fifteen minutes and nearly gave up because we thought it hadn't opened on time, when it fact it had opened early. The gate just looked like it was still locked, which we realised when someone came out and invited us inside. Beautifully maintained, we extended our self guided walking tour... More

We visited here in the pouring rain and had to ask several people where it was down the side street. The interior is surprisingly stunning.

Small, modest but fascinating. Not easy to find as the outside street is as chaotic as the synagogue is serene. Difficult to believe it is being maintained by a jewish population of only 24 or so.

It's easy to miss Myanmar's only Synagogue located in busy downtown area. It was awarded Blue Plaque by the Yangon Heritage Trust as one of the city's cultural heritages.

Knowing there was a Jewish community in Yangon, is of historical interest. However, other than a quick glance at some of the photos in the synagogue, there really isn't any reason to go out of your way to visit. By contrast, I found the Indian temple devoted to Kali and other Hindu gods/goddesses worthy of a visit to observe the... More

Unfortunately I visited at a time when the synagogue wasn't open and as a consequence it wasn't possible to go inside. The exterior is really not that impressive.

First time visiting a synagogue. Eye opening experience. We were impressed by the architecture and the artifacts in the synagogue
