Once a Grand attraction now neglected

The Kandawgyi Park is in centre of Yangon. The main attraction here is the Karaweik Palace which is in one corner of Kandawgyi lake.The park has many trees lining the outer edge. The park now is not maintained well and not many visitors.

Great View of Kandawgyi Lake

I like the view from Kandawgyi Lake, especially the sunset view. I am happy to go there during this time. It's magical and beautiful. However, it's saddening because the temple at the lake has been abandoned and unmaintained. It was padlocked.

Beautiful park in Yangon

This park is really large in Yangon. It has plenty of shops and many trees. Its nice place to take a rest and many people especially couples and family went there. One of the restaurants' name "Karaweik Palace" in Kandawgyi park is famous for cultural show in night time.

Worthy of One-Time Visit

We had stopped by the boat/restaurant as part of our one day city tour. We made reservations to return for dinner and the show. We took a cab to Kandawgyi Compound for the International Buffet with culture show. Do not open the doors until exactly 1800 or 6 pm. Very good selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts in their buffet. The show was entertaining and the performers did an excellent job. Beer and wine very limited selection. Worth going one time.

Uniquely Burmese Structure

Have read some reviews and decided to visit the place. We went in the afternoon after lunch time. Just stayed outside to take some photos. Nothing much to offer except photo takings, patronised some ice-cream parlours and cafe.

Good for photo taking at the park. Cannot really appreciate this place and its surrounding much.

On construction, dirty and just deserve visit the Boat restaurant view.

Not really worthy if you are not visiting the boat restaurant . Otherwise is dirty, on construction and workers everywhere which are not fluent in English (and will not help you to exit of the park if you need it). It was too hot and after walking for 15 mins I realized the way was closed ( nobody told me , basically because we could not understand each other).

Difficult to praise this highly ,it is what it is and essentially limited.
Walk round part of the lake ,take a picture if one must, and that is it.
