We visited here today: a collection of World War II armaments/bombs/relics, a large colorful Bai, a small botanical garden and an excellent collection of carved storyboards in the historical museum.

Great museum and the second best souvenir shop on the island! Definitely worth a visit. Features a very comprehensive review of Palauan history and culture. Would recommend visiting.

Great museum with lots of interesting exhibits. I especially liked the personal story presentation, it helped connect the war events with local people. Selection in the gift shop was great with lots of hand crafted items.

Good introduction to the culture and history of Palau, the museum is visited in under an hour and presents artifacts on early dwellers and the different colonial periods, as well as about modern history and marine conservation milestones.

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Belau National Museum while in Palau. The museum was quite extensive. I could have literally spent half the day learning about the culture, people, development of this island, etc. If you're a history lover, then this is the place to go. As for my souvenir, I learned about story boards, which are wood carvings of sea life, for example. Within the carvings, there are stories of people, sea life, trees, plants, etc. Obviously, the bigger the story board, the more extensive the stories. Pretty impressive! In addition, this is a good place to small souvenirs like magnets, post cards, cookbooks, etc.

This museum is well laid out and has several very informative exhibits. It's not very large, but you will definitely learn a lot about the history and culture of Palau.

Belau National Museum is very well done and highly informative. Their inside displays are very nice and give a short overview of Palau including history and environment. Outside they have a bai that can be explored and small gardens which sadly are a bit run down. They also have a small stage area but living in Palau we never saw anything performed here. Its a nice idea and hopefully is used. There is also a small cafe at the museum but have not used it.
