We had come off the Kokoda Trail and found the graves of some of the soldiers whose experiences we had followed.

Moving experience seeing the graves of the people that gave their lives for our freedom. The kids of today could learn a lot from coming here.

Worth visiting, if only to see the sheer numbers of fallen. The best preserved and presented "site" in Port Moresby. Clean and peaceful. Bit of a rough trip to get there...

Such a beautifully maintained cemetery to visit and pay tribute to those who fought so bravely.

On my visit a guard provided a good overview of the place as good as any tour guide (I gave him a tip but believe he wasn’t expecting one). I’m likely to return to sit under one of the massive trees and read a book while occasionally looking up and acknowledging how lucky I am because of the sacrifice of the brave men who lie here.

A must visit for anyone from the commonwealth and especially Australia.

a short drive out of Port Moresby on the way to the Kokoda track, just turn left at the sign. Rows of young men and some women headstones, with some very young.

Go early, enjoy the peaceful place & cleanliness. Read messages on some of the plaques to realise what we have now is good.

Here, thousands of soldiers who served in WWII to protect Papua have been laid to rest and this site is here as a sign of respect for the fighters.
The environment is quiet and peaceful. It is also clean and everything is aligned in order.
I would prefer that visitors do not use this area has a picnic site but rather as a memorial site.
However, the area is beautiful with the community of different species of plants and probably animals too. It is accessible to all however, if you have good intentions, you would be allowed on.
