The Simbu section of the mighty Wahgi River provides one of the best kayaking and whitewater rafting spots in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. I was lucky enough to be hosted by a local family in Banz, near the Wahgi river. They sowed me around, explained the culture and made me feel like family! If you do go, eat the "wahgibesta" (best of wahgi river) sweet potatoes :)
