The Botanical garden is free to enter although it wasn't what we really expected and instead was mainly just a large park. The is the natural history museum inside the park which is also free to enter and it has some interesting exhibits. However, most of them aren't maintained properly and they lack explanations. The zoo entrance costs 10,800 GS... More

If you like to visit Zoo you may appreciate some aspects of this zoo, but don't come with San Diego or Berlin in mind! It's a simple zoo, more in the history of zoological facilities of the 1920s: fenced animals. Despite of seeing that they are well fed, they don't look happy. The Botanical is also rather simples. Beautiful tree... More

Unless I missed them the botanical gardens only seemed to have trees and shrubs with very few flowers. The zoo was upsetting as the animals did not have much space. It is a difficult decision whether to visit a Zoo or not. My money helps feed the animals but when you visit a zoo like this you realise that giving... More

This is a very well cared garden in Asuncion worth paying the entry fee for parking -about a dollar or two- and you can stroll under the shade of nice trees and flowers. I was surprised to find out that many people skip this place for other free green areas, but this is one is worth spending an afternoon. There... More

It is a good place to discover in Asunción... it is a big park to spend some time or play outdoor sports. In the Zoo you can check usual animals and must look for Elephant, lions, tigers, hippo and more local species...

Leopard, jaguar, panther, lion, lioness, leopard (not a cheetah if you can distinguish), fox and tiger are all in the same zoo. You can see black cartoon bird with big yellow beak "toco toucan" in this zoo. Also there are local animals that are not acquainted, such as tapir. All the names are not written and the written things are... More

We weren't sure what to expect from the zoo after reading other reviews here, so we were pleasantly surprised. It was quiet during the week but even as the first people there we felt very safe walking around (they've installed cameras and there are lots of staff around too). Some of the animals' cages have room for improvement but in... More

The zoo has started a reorganization and improvement project of all cages. They're getting bigger and greener! Also, from now on all the animals' main characteristics are explained on signs.

More like a big park in city. Lots of kids running around playing football. Very few plants marked with species name, not really a botanical garsen. Anyway, probably the most and only peaceful place in Asuncion city.
