The palace of justice sits across from the cathedral and other long standing buildings. It feels a bit out of place as it’s so modern.

One of the most significant buildings on Plaza de Bolivar for many reasons - do yourself a favour and bone up on its backstory.

Even though this building is clearly younger than the other buildings around the Plaza , it blends very well with the others and is an attraction by itself !

This important building is located on Bolivar Plaza. The Palace of Justice witnessed many at times dramatic events in recent Colombian history. The current building is in neo-classical style and has strong presence in the heart of Bogota. For a tourist it may not be the main focus but it is worth making a note of. Do not overlook the important sign near the entrance featuring the phrase by General Francisco de Paula Santander: Colombians arms have given you independence, the laws will give you freedom .
