a structure that admirably lacks a high rise propensity, it is essentially circular, it occupies a position in that verdant part of the town and it breathes at various levels. Visit it unhesitatingly.

When we visited there was a lot of cleaning and general maintenance going on. The fountains were out of order which was disappointing. The main building was not open so we didn’t get to go on the roof to admire the view. The grounds are pleasant to walk round

Masterpiece of architect Rogelio Salmona, who always used local bricks for his buildings. The library is located in a beautiful park with lake and nice paths for walking. Good plan for a relaxed day.

great library, with fantastic resource for children, both inside and outside. It's right on the edge of the park. There's a rollerblading track. Inside, is a good children's section and a nice café. It's one of the nicest designs for libraries, or for public buildings in the city. It's worth stopping by.

Yes, it's just a library (boring!). But the surroundings are more important than the books and even the cool architecture. Walk the building (it's free) and then take a look at the park. If you don't have enough time to go through Parque Simón Bolívar (right across the street) and the day is sunny enough (lucky day in Bogotá), you can see the amazing mountains of the city from here, in a quiet environment, far from tourists. Even outside of the library, this is a great spot to sit and read, which is what I normally do: take a 15 minute walk from home and forget about the world. Mornings there's a lot of professional rollerbladers practicing around the library and weekends some families gather with pets.

This library was both a beautiful sight and a respite from the city. It is set in a slight bowl, so that you cannot see the city and it cannot see you. : ) Once inside, you'll hopefully marvel at the exquisite design. Well worth a visit.

I found this place by accident years ago. It offers great views of the city and it is an ideal spot to escape in a sunny day.

This was such a delightful library! I love exploring international libraries and I was so impressed with Biblioteca Virgilio. The design is very cool, be sure to make your way to the rooftop to get the full effect. The library is also surrounded by a park that is nice to walk around. I liked all the moats / water surrounding the library, it's so serene and peaceful. Really loved my time visiting and I would recommend spending at least 1.5 hrs here.

The whole library is surrounded by a small body of water that demonstrates sincere architectural ingenuity. The architecture on the whole is seriously impressive and there is no easy way to describe it other than to recommend you to see it for yourself. The surrounding gardens and green spaces are very well kept and the interior is clean. It is a relaxing and spacious environment indoors and it boasts computers, books, local art and much more. There is a wonderful rooftop view that I highly recommend for mountain and city views.
