We enjoyed this beach even though it was raining the day we went. (Granted, we are from the Midwest USA so all beaches are impressive!) Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Search “lobos marinhos” on Google Maps and you’ll find a place where you can buy fish and feed sea lions that hang out in the port!

A huge beach both in length and width. A gentle slope of the sand takes you into the water , gentle waves, fabulous

Best sea food experience in PR. If you are looking to have the freshest fish this is the place.
Service is excellent. Hace the conch salad and the daily fresh fish….you will not regret it . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the ocean side of the PdE peninsula, and so the waves tend to be bigger more frequently, since it is actually the open ocean (unlike the "mansa" side).
It's still a largely undeveloped area.

Punta del Este might not seem like relaxing summer holiday place, but it definitely is. Playa Brava is the best beach in the city. It's huge, long, clean, you have plenty of space there. I loved it. Ad thanks to sand dunes you don't hear cars from the road, just waves. Over all, you can surf there nonstop.

If you visit Uruguay and spend time in Montevideo then take a trip to Punta del Este it will certainly make you see the difference between the two places. The latter makes you think of some of the best resorts on the Gulf of Mexico, even some of the better European resorts. The beach here is lovely, the water warmer than you might expect and it is very, very clean - a real contrast with the capital. Well worth a visit.

This long stretch of beach fronts the ocean and is home to the sculpture Monument of the Fingers which features giant fingers rising from the sand.

The beach is full of activity. Everyone was enjoying the sun while others were taking pictures of the famous hand. There are several shops and you can just take your time and enjoy the beach.

La Mano de Punta del Este is found on Playa Brava and is notably the most famous sculpture in Uruguay. Whilst the sculpture is well worth checking out, the beach isn't overly impressive and is quite a pain to walk on, with areas of sharp shells. Despite this, the majority of the beach is soft sand and is a nice place in which to sit and relax with ocean views.
