I am a big fan of traditional souks and bazaars worldwide but of all the souks I have been to this is literally the worst!

There is absolutely nothing to do here. It is actually more of a souk themed mall than a traditional old labyrinth souk. Pretty much all the shops sell the exact same merchandise… Spices, souvenirs, pashminas and that is it.
To make things worse there is a hypermarket upstairs meaning that it is not even a proper souk. Skip it!
I highly recommend Dubai’s souks if you had time.

🛑DO NOT GO HERE!!! BE CAREFUL!!!🛑

We wanted to get some nice souvenirs and saw good reviews. I strongly discourage anyone going here!

A vendor crossed all boundaries, when helping me put on a scarf by touching me in inappropriate way, which absolutely shocked me.

Vendors try to charge x5-10 times what things are worth and tell you beautiful fake stories about how this is their family business all the way from India.

The most interesting thing is that when you go to tourist shops for example in your hotel or near Sheikh Zayed’s mosque, they sell THE SAME THINS 5 TIMES CHEAPER and you don’t have to bargain and have this unpleasant experience of being fooled.

Just think again whether you really need to go here, and if you do, be careful, know they shamelessly charge you 10 times more and, women, be aware and don’t let anyone come even close to you!

🛑Don’t be fooled by shopping mall appearance, this is a typical market with typical street vendors, so stay alert🛑

First part of our walking tour. I didn’t get a chance to explore the whole central market but they have a whole museum like exhibits that you can also explore by yourself. They have the history of the railroad, explanations on how it evolved throughout the years and much more.

There’s a whole variety of things to do inside the Central Market. Buy food, souvenirs, and other items that you could possibly find.

I went there around 11AM-12PM and some stores are still closed.

Highly recommend the store with spices and dates at the entrance of the Souk. Safe environment and helpful shopkeepers. You can also manage a good bargain.

I was expecting the old fashioned souk market with lots of product and minor organization. A large shopping complex with a variety of stores and services. Not bugged by the sellers. The gold section is huge!

More of a mall than a market .. modern shops stocking a variety of goods and a very large super market...

There is a bit of the mall for the soul (market) which was quite difficult to find ... they had souvenirs / dates / spices etc

The highlight for The kids was a Lego play area (30AEd per hour) I think ..where they had access to loads of Lego..
Food court was nice as well.. great variety of food

I`d expected an old fashioned hustle and bustle market but this was a relaxed arcade with clean lines and warm wooden features. Quite an attractive arcade. We found a shop selling beautiful embroidered jackets and i couldn`t resist. Some good natured bartering and we found a price we were both happy with. My Kashmir Cottage jacket is gorgeous and I`ll enjoy wearing it in England. Apparently Hilary Clinton has one too.
