I stopped in to see the falcons. They had about 30 of them in two rooms. They also sold equipment for handling/training falcons. It was interesting to see but there wasn’t much going on. I spent about 5 minutes here.

Interesting place to visit and worth making some time to visit. Apart from the birds, the buildings are interesting.

I did not realise just how much of a business Falconing was in Qatar and this provided a fascinating insight. There are shops dedicated to producing the equipment required for the birds / falconry, where you can watch them being produced and worked on. There are many birds on display, in various stages of their training and our kids got to view them close up and touch their feathers.

Was amazing to see the falcons and thus part of the culture but seemed a little cruel on how the birds are treated, I hope though when they find a home they are treated better.

This Place is closed the Waqif Market, but during day time, less chance to meet the Arabic man with their pets Falcon. Most falcon will wear a special hat cover their eyes to avoid attack people. I walked in a falcon hospital introduced by local person. see a lot falcon are queuing up for the calling just like human.

An easy to access cultural site that provides an opportunity to see local culture. Easy access to other souqs. It is also a functioning shop centre, but shop keepers did not mind tourists visiting to see the falcons

This place was a neat experience. The shop owner was very welcoming and told us all about the falcons that he had for sale. He also showed us some that he was keeping for individuals. The falcon hospital right across from the shop was very interesting as well.

While I didn't like Souq Waqif as it looks quite artificial, new built and touristic without any authentic atmosphere, this next door bazaar was a great find. It's an authentic place you cannot find in many places.
Falcons are very important birds in the Middle east, specially here in Qatar. It's a matter of prestige to own them. There are many shops selling different kinds of falcons and equipment for them, and there's even a falcon hospital at the spot.
Shop owners were very friendly explaining the birds and letting us hold them even knowing we are not buyers, but ordinary tourists.

It's cool to see the Falcons, and get to meet them. The attendants are kind of tough to interact with, especially as it wasn't busy when I was there. During my visit, there were only 2 shops that were open and the courtyard was empty. I suspect my timing was off- I would suggest researching best times to go.
