I'm a huge fan of markets but this particular one is very unique in the things they sell. The market is not too far from the port - maybe about 15mins walk. There's a free wifi spot under the stairs of the main landmark. Do...More

I can't begin to enthral enough at the authenticity of this Souk, set in the beautiful Port-side town of Muttrah. I take my hat off to the Authorities for allowing the old to remain amongst the beauty of the new. Muttrah runs with it's original...More

The setting is amazing - hundreds of stalls in a maze of undulating streets. The vendors are hyper-agressive to the point of rudeness. My daughter felt very uncomfortable. The goods offered from stall to stall are so similar that they are obviously made in the...More

It's the best souk I have ever seen. The colors, the smells, the food and all the crafts and souvenirs that we can find in this place it's overwhelming. I love it.

Souk was dingy, dirty, goods were not of good quality and much of what was being offered was stained or dusty. This just doesn't compare to what you would find in Istanbul, Marrakech or other locations. Recommend passing it by.

Very close to cruise ship port. Right in the middle of town, lots of bargains, but many locals are pushy for you to buy. Please be very careful crossing the road!

This was a great Souk. Prices were normal and not crazy exaggerated for tourists. You could bargain a bit and we bought rosewater, laps and frankincense. Note that the Frankincense from Oman is very special. I am not sure why but several people told me...More

If you are looking for mementos from Oman, this is a place to be. The place is clean, safe and huge, yet not much varieties among stores. The difference is the price that you need to bargain. Some mementos are fragile (made from glasses) so...More

Very narrow streets with shops on sides. People are quite friendly and great for making deals and negotiating clothes, rugs, ornaments, etc.. A must when visiting Muscat. It’s unique with always something new ahead.

You can find it in one of the famous brand malls. This is an old market for souvenirs and gifts
