On the back way to Tehran, you will be amazed if you visit Emam Khomeini mausoleum because of its magnificent architecture and fascinating ornamentation.

It is a nice place and easily accessible by metro but the building is still under construction and not finished. It might be better to visit it when it is finished.

The decorations and dimensions of the Shrine are breathtaking. People come in to pray or seek solace for problems. As well as hijab, women must wear chador which is provided.

The site is a place of pilgrimage for followers of Khomeini. It is used symbolically by government figures, and is on occasion visited by foreign dignitaries.
