If you are visiting Iran, this museum could be a perfect start point to understand the history and culture. From palaeolithic and neolithic you csn follow all tribes and dinasties, including achaemenides. It needs a better organization, but still it's very interesting.

We had a fantastic guide who went through the history of Iran, using the rooms of the museum. Without him, I'm not sure we would have been as blown away as we were. I loved it!

It is a very nice museum for tourists to understand more on the long history & the rich culture of Iran. A great collection of ancient artefacts to see there, over 300,000 objects. A must-see museum in Tehran!

We visited the pre-Islamic section of the museum. The artefacts from Persepolis and some Seljuk and Sasavid ones are interesting. Tickets cost 300k rial and is way too much. The post Islamic section costs another 200k rial.

this museum hold exhibits from Iranian history, some of which are interesting but really very spectacular. I am afraid there are more spectacular exhibits in the Louvre and the British Museum.
