Excellent museum, wonderfully displayed, well worth a visit. Very informative and enjoyable. Two full floors of exhibit halls. Plenty of room, well laid out, easy to follow the floor arrows so as not to miss anything, and the restrooms we’re spotlessly clean.

I must say that this is easily one of the best attractions in Riyadh for families and singles alike! Very few people know about it and I advise you to go there and see what a grand Five Star Marvel this is! :-)

This is a favorite spot for me especially on the weekend early morning because it is so quiet and peaceful - ahh the serenity. Its just a great place to relax and meander through the historic buildings, sit and drink tea listening to the trickle of running water. The pretty mosaic water ways is just divine. I love this spot in down town Riyadh.

The old Fort has been reborn as a museum....artifacts of the crucible in which the modern Saudi state (or at least the opening salvo in the campaign which led to its creation) was launched. You can get a pretty impressive sense of what conditions were like in 1902 when the future King Abdulaziz and his band crept up for their successful sneak attack. A bit like visiting Colonial Williamsburg one generation (and 450 years of progress) after the fact.

I had an opportunity to have a private small group visit to the Historical Center and the Murabba Palace, where King Abdulaziz was raised in his childhood. It was a very impressive tour and quite interesting. There are some very nice displays in the Historical Center but I especially enjoyed the Palace. It is usually open only in the evenings but worth a visit. Some of the rooms in the Palace displayed many photographs and artifacts. Ask to see the special room where visitors to see King Abdulaziz are directed to wait. The King's special leopard skin chair where he would sit to welcome his visitors was also on display. I found it to be educational and entertaining.

You can easily spend a day here. It is a museum for everyone and shows the history of mankind but also focusing on the national history in general. This site has several parks and buildings including also a car collection (oldtimer), a hidden garden, etc... A true gem in Riyadh!

Very nicely and categorized way of Saudi History. One can see the tremendous change of how saudi was in those days and where it stands now.

There are two museums -

1. Saudi History
2. Al Murrabba Palace

You can spend minimum 2 to 3 hour if you are not in hurry or if you do not have much interest in history 1 hours is enough.

If you are with family you can enjoy the garden in the same vicinity

You will have to pay 10 SAR as entry ticket to enter and you can enjoy both the museums with same ticket
