    Night visit during Ramadan
Very spacious and well organised museum. Compared e.g. to Egypt there is little in terms of exhibits but the lay out, the light, the explanations etc. are impeccable. It is also free. The gardens around it are a masterpiece of gardening. All in all, a magical experience.

National Museum is a Must See
This was a fabulous museum and very interesting from the prehistoric elephant that used to exist in Saudi to the history of Arabic writing systems and everything in between. I definitely recommend visiting (allow yourself 2.5 hours so you have time to explore the many park areas surrounding the museum if you have the opportunity to visit Riyadh. As an American who only knows English, there is English everywhere!

    Impressive Museum
This is a very large museum that does a good job of explaining the history of Saudi Arabia and the Muslim faith. At first I thought it was a little odd that they would focus so much on religion but it makes a lot of sense when you consider how the closely intertwined the country and religion are. I spent about 90 minutes here and learned a lot, particularly about the Muslim faith.

a well laid out museum that helps you gain lot of insights into the history and culture
plans to spend at least a couple of hours here and you will learn a lot. On display is a skeleton of a Platybelodon and Ichthyosaur; very interesting also the huge meteorite that was found in the Wabar crater. You will learn about the pre 14 pre Islamic Arabian kindoms on the Arabian Peninsular 5 BC - 700 AD. The overall collection is marvelous. The outside gardens are also worth visiting and enjoying

This place is enormous! Spacious halls, innovative exhibits, and a helpful yellow trail of dots on the floor to guide you round. It starts with a big meteorite and dinosaurs and moves onto the history of the Arabian peninsula from 6,000 BC pretty well to the current day. The large galleries are well presented with clear labels in English and Arabic. BUT...we were the ONLY visitors! Not a single soul else was there. No coffee shop. No gift shop. And not much English spoken by the friendly attendants either. People say you must visit the museum. It did not 'wow' me, although it was well presented. I just did not find it that interesting. But it was air conditioned, modern and cool. Oh, and free!

Incredible facility. Well laid out, informative, educational, enlightening, and a most enjoyable way to learn about the country and history of the Arabian Peninsula. About two hours to see both floors of exhibit halls.

Unfortunately I have to say it was terrible because it’s actually closed for renovations, however nowhere is that fact posted. So, we paid a driver to take us there and then we were stranded there.
Not a happy day
