The mosaics were amazing and we spent a lot of time looking at them. There is not much else to see though the arches are interesting. It is evident that more could be excavated. The mosaics are some of the most fantastic ones we've seen esp at an archeological site

This location is extensive ruins of a Christian / Byzantine settlement. There are some of the best mosaics in the middle east, and definitely the best in Jordan. They are much better and more extensive than the mosaics in the church in Madaba. Aside from the mosaics, there are extensive ruins that you are free to wander. There are some... More

This place is well worth visiting even in extreme heat and Ramadan! The information centre is new and well designed with a small information section, toilets, and a cafe and gift centre run by a local women's cooperative (both unfortunately closed when we visited). The mosaic site was deserted when we visited but cool as it is shaded and protected... More

Hellenistic ruins. Good mosaic work. Quiet and nice. Not too much to see however, for the long ride that takes you there.

A lovely place to wander through the ruins. Unfortunately signage is very poor and it is difficult to find anything other than St Stephen's Church which lies protected under a recently built struture. 3JD entrance fee

It was 30-45 minutes drive from Madaba and you will really enjoy the scenic view during the drive. It is too bad that there aren't that many tourist on this site. It has different collection of churches and mosaics. I just wish this place is more well kept (tall grass around walkway) since it is UNESCO Heritage Site.

Well worth the trip to see the extremely well preserved large floor mosaic at the 8th century AD church.

The archaeological site at Um er-Rasas is an amazing collection of Roman and Byzantine structures. The highlight of the site is the collection of amazing floor mosaics of some of the city's churches. The church of St Stephen includes depictions of various important cities in the region. This place is a little out of the way, but well worth the... More

The site is amazing and not many people visit it, as said by our guide. There were nobody except us, so we appreciated it a lot. The mosaic is unique and totally well mainteined. The welcome visitor center offers some help and few papers to guide the visit. The site is located in a great area.

We were very impressed with this stop. Having been to the church in Madaba a few days prior, we were wishing we had just skipped it altogether. This place has mosaics-many of them. There is a large modern protective structure built over an area that includes the ruins of multiple churches that were built seemingly side by side. All of... More
