This is a quirky place. The museum displays use mostly human sized mannequins, and some seem to have seen better days. The visit was made much better by the narration of the local guide. The place laso has a big shop and they also do demonstrations on mosaic making. We felt that the staff became less enthusiastic when they realized that we do not plan to buy anything. Nevertheless, this is inexpensive to visit.

While you are at Mount Nebo, it would be a mistake not to visit La Storia Tourism Complex : an attractive mixture of a folk museum, a history museum and a handicrafts centre.

The Complex is in a beautiful place with a magnificent view over the Jordan valley , Dead Sea, just before you arrive at the Church of Mount Nebo on your right side is La Storia Museum where you can see a series of tableaux of the history of the Middle East, from the time of Prophet Noah and descending of the Ten Commandmentsl to the Arab Revolt and the establishment of the Hashemite dynasty in Jordan and early villages of the 19th. Century

Welcome to history

We didn't know about this place but our amazing driver, Omran Brkawi, suggested we should stop by. The museum gave us a good insight in the local history and showed us the way people lived in the area a long time ago. Our guide was very helpful and had a good sense of humour - we really enjoyed walking around with him. After the visit we contributed to a world record attempt - to make the largest mosaic in the world! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Just bought a 3D mosaic from them. Such cool depth in the bigger mosaics. REALLY debated diving in on another smaller piece(Tree/circle of Life), but couldn't swallow the extra cost after dropping almost $1500 on the larger piece. I guess we will know in 2-3 weeks if this place is legit when our mosaic arrives. Laithe, the man who walked with us around the store and answered our questions was fantastic. Not pushy, just kind of hung back and answered questions or gave us information as needed. Variety was a little bit limited, but the stuff looked GOOD! Much better prices than Nebo Pearl. When we walked into Nebo Pearl, I just got that kind of feeling that things were not on the up & up. Something sneaky about the place. No idea why, just that gut feeling when I walked through the door. May have been the people lurking around the door as well as the pushy-ness to make a sale. Prices seemed to be almost twice that at La Storia.

This is quite different from any museum I've ever visited. The most outstanding thing about it is its ambition - an attempt to recreate scenes from great religions and history and culture of the middle east. So much sheer effort and hard work has been put into this project and the developers deserve every credit for their efforts. I must say however that I have to disagree with other reviewers about the quality of the statues. Some are good, it is true, but many of them are actually a bit creepy, and others merely humorous. Also, the mechanized ones would be better switched off because the movements actually add a comic effect and are far from realistic. Having made criticism I should say that the staff present were excellent, and the overall setting of the museum was very good.

I enjoyed the museum a lot.It is done with great precision, the statues are perfect, could be mistaken for real people. I did not stop taking pictures.Enjoyable museum. The workshop next to it is simply breath taking, beautiful pictures & crafts. The restrooms are very well cared for & clean with plenty of rooms. The best place ever. The fee is very small for entering the complex.

We toured La Storia-Nebo Tourism Complex & Museum on September 28, 2013 in Madaba when the RJTV crew approached us for an interview.

I recommend when visiting Jordan to ask the tour company to schedule a stop by La Storia-Nebo Tourism Complex & Museum in Madaba to experience an exciting journey through history. It’s worth visiting this museum to discover the religious, historical and cultural heritage of Jordan and the region. The story of the land, from the Old Testament through to the era of the New Testament. It's arranged in a big circle, where you walk through a winding path to see the exhibits, which are all sculptures with 3D backgrounds behind them. It starts with Noah's Ark, where you see a huge boat with the animals. Then, you get to other parts of the Old Testament, like the destruction of Babylon and where Moses split the Red Sea. Then, the religious era - where Jesus was born, baptized and the last supper. Next is Petra, as well as a glimpse of the traditional uniforms of the area's different tribes. After that, the Islamic era is represented, and then the history of Jordan itself.

In an area of the museum, you'll have a chance to clue a little mosaic block with your name on it. The Museum created a space where the biggest mosaic mural in the world is going to be created. It will be 30 by 6 meters and will depict the King's Highway, taking you as though you're driving from the most southern part to the most northern part of Jordan.

Basically it has 2 section, the first one has simulations of the main events in ancient and modern history in jordan and the other section is practically a simulation of an old jordanian village and various shops. Once finished they have a great souvenir shop and a chance to participate in the world largest mosaic portrait. The restaurant upstairs has a great view of Nebo valley but the food is very average.

This was a new site since visiting Madaba a couple times before. It is near Mt. Nebo and is well laid out very informative about the cultural changes that have transpired in the region over the centuries. Between the Archaeological park with all of its great mosaics and the churches with mosaics still in place, La Historia has just nudged Madaba up a large notch as must see in Jordan when planning a trip here. Loved it.
