But certainly not a destination. Kerak is impressive, but it isn’t very well maintained. It’s large but spending more than one or two hours there would be too much. Interesting history and incredible to imagine it being built but there just isn’t much to see...More

A ruined castle with a bloody history. There are catapult stones in the building. Difficult to walk and poorly maintained. Better to see from afar and move on to the next site

We visited Kerak on the way to Petra. It’s a huge castle, but badly sign posted so without a guide it is difficult to organise the visit, learn about the place.

Located at the top of the city Kerak Castle is a good stop if you're driving South towards Petra. The outside of the castle is intact and parts of the interior as well. Look up some information yourself, there aren't too many informational signs.

Title says it all. Impressive historical castle from the Crusades time. Interesting, but I have seen so many around the world that I wouldnt have bothered unless I was driving past (as I was). Worth a visit.

Like so many tourist attractions it really does depend what you enjoy - but for me this well preserved castle was great fun to explore - for its history and its ambiance, and its views, and although signage and on site information is poor that...More

Stopped here on our way back to Amman. The views are great from the castle. The castle has a lot to see but our time was limited and our guide explained most of the important information. It doesn't take long to view this site and...More

We stopped by at Kerak on our way to Petra. First impressions are the amazing views from the site. Can only imagine the vantage point achieved back when battles were waged. The castle itself has tons of rooms to explore. There is information scattered along...More

Kerak and Jerash are in opposite directions from Amman. Kerak is south & Jerash is north. Personally, I would NOT try to see both in the same day, especially if you want to spend time at each site. In my opinon, it would... More
