We arrived at around 11pm on the off-chance we could do some wine tasting. The wine expert, Q, was about to clock out but overheard us. He swiftly stopped his exit and turned his attention to us.
He quickly learned our wine preferences so he could choose us 6 reds to sample. His expertise and passion for wine was encapsulating, and we were soon deep in conversation as we tasted the wines. This was a perfect serendipitous experience; had we arrived a moment later, Q would have been gone, and we are so grateful that he stayed late and made our wine tasting experience so memorable
As for the wines, they were broad, ranging from Zinfandels to Tempranillos, but all with their own unique flavours and notes. Being red wine lovers, this was the perfect experience.
We would highly recommend this to anyone who loves wine and gets the chance to visit Amman, Jordan.

This was a really enjoyable and laid back place to spend the evening! We loved the atmosphere and the way it's decorated to create an intimate and cosy feel. We ended up doing the sommelier experience and Hazar helped guide us through it and worked with us to make sure we got to try a nice variety of delicious wines. She was amazing!
We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in Jordan

We visited the JR wine bar in Amman for a wine tasting straight after Ramadan with little prior knowledge of the wine produced in Jordan.
I think it was Qussai that did our tasting - he was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and patient and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.
Whilst the wines we tasted weren't quite to our taste we really enjoyed the few hours we had there and would recommend the curious traveller to give it a try

When planning my trip to Jordan, I was intrigued by the idea of wine made in the middle of the desert, so I considered a must the tasting session at JR The Wine Experience.
This was my first touch with the wine produced in Jordan with little prior knowledge about it and without knowing what expectations to set.
I definitely have to mention the kindness and friendliness of the persons we met there. Qussai's enthusiasm turned our tasting into an unforgettable experience, and the acknowledges and professionalism of the sommelier represent a promise of improving and evolving the quality of Jordan wine.
Don't judge, but admire the courage of making wine in the basalt dessert in a challenging terroir. It is a brave begging which needs a lot of improvement, but we really enjoyed the moments spent with such opened people who accept and embrace all opinions because they do want to become a name on the wine market.
Their labels look great, and the wines we tasted were very different from what we knew about each grape.
Actually we were blown away by how different many of the varietals were and by the way they chose to make some of them like using new or used barrels for Chardonnay but also for the red ones aged a long time. The Riesling was drier and the rose was interesting, diferent from other roses, but I would suggest losing the pint of Chardonnay added because it gives the wine weight instead of freshness. The limited edition Shiraz is very nice and well-balanced.
It was a pleasant evening and nice experience.
Good luck JR team!

Is it possible for give this more than 5 stars? We had an astonishing evening here our last night in Jordan after relaxing at the dead sea, taking in the amazing history and religious experiences, and hiking through Petra for a couple of days. We could not have ended on a higher note! Our sommelier for the evening Q, was wonderful. His knowledge of the wines, the history of the company, and his ability to understand our preferences made for an incredible evening. Even though he had to tend to several other parties, he still would find his way back within a few minutes for a wonderful chat, the next recommendation for wine, and a quick connection with our 8 year old son. Q truly turned it from a great evening into an unforgettable one!
The wines themselves were very different, forget what you know about how specific grapes "should" taste and open your mind to just good wine! We come from California and Oregon's Willamette Valley and were blown away by how different and spectacular many of the varietals were. The reisling was more flavorful, drier, and more well balanced than any I've had. And I am not a fan of white wine. The rose was beautiful and refreshing. And the reds were... Unexpected and brilliant! The Sangiovese was as good as many of the best Willamette pinots from back home. The Cabernet would go toe to toe with Trinchero. The food was also a highlight and our son loved the lasagna. We enjoyed their signature spinach dip. And a quick tip, pair it with the Gourmand cheese board so you can have the manchego, spinach dip, and chorizo, on a piece of baguette. Fantastic! Especially with the limited released Shiraz.
Thank you Q, and JR wines for a magical evening. We will be recommending this to anyone we know visiting Amman and Jordan.

Head Chef Mr Saleh was amazing. Other than being so welcoming, he explained to us what was special about the heritage, the history of the Haddad family. The origin of the family business, as its start from the desert to obe of the beat wine producers in the Middle East.
We will be coming back for 3reasons:
-the quality of the wines (ex limited edition red Shiraz 2012)
-the quality of the food(dont miss out on the steak and the grilled salmon)
-the wonderful chef saleh: took care of us during our short visit…we did not feel the 3hours spent at the place
Regards and see u soon

Visited with friends and tried some of the huge variety of Jordanian wines they have to offer. The service was great but the red wine had lots of sediment, made me feel quite bad. Think they need to look at how they store wine and maybe get some expert advise on what is good wine. Better to offer 5 good wines rather than 100 wines where some bad ones can put your customers off. Overall a 2 star. Could be much better. Food and cheese board was great though.

The wine tasting was informative & professionally presented....a lovely variety and varied flavours. The bruschetta were the best we had ever tasted.
Highly recomended experience to anyone with an inclination for good wine and nice food.

Fantastic wine bar in the middle of Amman. Local vineyard, albeit up in northern Jordan. Wines are served at W hotel (our hotel) and Royal Jordanian airlines. Try the flight, gives you a great experience of the difference wines they have. Hazar who served us and talked us through the wine is awesome and so lovely, knowledgeable and very proud of the wines. Must do if you love wines and want to try local good Jordanian wines. We didn’t eat there (ate earlier) but wished we had, looked and smelt amazing!

Hazav showed us around in the cellar. She explained the story of the winery, told a few thoughts about the selection. We chose the sommelier wine experience and she led our way through the finest of her choice. Wines are very good, kitchen is superb, Hazav is the perfect host! I say it is a must stop for anyone in Amman. The wines, the service, the atmosphere just all make it a perfect evening! Special thanks for Hazav for everything,
