We had an amazing wine tasting experience. Our sommelier was wonderful and taught us so much about the history of this family winery. The windows were great. We enjoyed the location and personal attention we received. Highly recommend this experience when in Amman. The cheese platter was delicious as was the house made wine sauce.

So glad we travelled across Amman to do this! The staff, and our wine guide, was the best thing about this place! He was really knowledgeable about Jordan River wines - and funny too! We look forward to bringing a bottle of New Zealand Pinot Noir over to share with them! The food and the wine pairing (that JR Rose 🤤🍷❤️) was a highlight for our Amman city trip - we hope to be back soon!

these people have scammed me- I was “invited to a private dinner” and wasn’t told anything about the financials, and I was under the impression based on what employee told me that this was a free dinner for the loyal costumers of the place. I was later shocked that I have to pay for the entire dinner with no previous mention whatsoever about this. what was most disappointing was the lack of confrontation from their end on the entire situation. I’m not planning to come back here because of the rude behavior here.

This is absolutely worth the stop and a one of a kind experience. Hazard, the sommelier, was very helpful and a great resource in picking out the right wine. Wine by the bottle is much cheaper (and better!) than most Western-leaning hotels. The food is also delicious. Definitely a must stop!

"Ok, let me do a flight of 6 wines - the sparkling brut , the roussanne/riesling blend, aged pinot grigio for whites, then for the reds - barbera, tempranillo, and cab", I heard myself saying to Hazar, the enthusiastic and knowledgeable associate at JR Wine Experience, on my initial visit. I probably sounded a bit in shock saying those words, because the last thing I expected to find in Amman was a local Jordanian winery producing wines from all these varietals (and more!).
It was my initial visit to the JR Wine Experience, which fortunately was close to my hotel. A long time wine enthusiast, tasting local wines is usually part of my travel itinerary. In this case, I really didn't know what to expect. Only a google search a couple of days before my flight to Amman did I come across this place, and it wasn't immediately clear what type of wines they offered. Hazar explained the offerings and led me through the showroom, and ultimately I decided on tasting a flight of 6 wines. Well, we actually tasted them together, comparing notes as we did so. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wines, and enjoyed Hazar's insights and company.
A made a return visit a couple of nights later, and Hazar immediately recognized me and we sat down to collaborate on what I would be tasting - another flight of 6 wines, all different from the last one - this included a chardonnay/albarino blend, chenin blanc, merlot and two reds from the private collection - a 2008 cab and 2015 syrah. Their sommelier, Mo, was also on hand, and dropped by to chat and answer my questions about the growing conditions in Jordan, which varietals grew best, etc etc...in short, the geeky stuff.
These visits were so much fun and a good intro to Jordanian wines. (And to think I was worried about not having any wine during my trip!). I consider them a highlight of my trip to Jordan, the same way that Petra, Wadi Rum, and Jerash were. Truly appreciated the helpfulness of the JR Wine Experience staff, especially Hazar.

Awesome restaurant / bar belonging to one of the two major wineries of Jordan.
The highlights of this place are:
- fantastic cuisine (their chef is brilliant)
- steak! go for a steak here
- sommeliers that know their business well and who can tell a very good story about the wine you're drinking.
All in all, it was a 5* experience, which I would recommend to any traveller who visits Amman.
