My daughter and I both took the English audio tour. We found it to be excellent and we were able to go at our own pace. There was also a visual component in our device which helped to locate the next place. The exhibition is very complete with examples of tanks, guns, uniforms, medals, pictures of all the defence ministers... More

Great little museum. It tucked away near the historic train station and a little hard to find but worth it. Old style museum with many artifacts that cover the military history of Israel from before independence to the present. Many but not all exhibits are labeled in English as well as Hebrew. Well worth some time if you are in... More

... the state of Israel is explained very well in this outstanding Museum. Every sequence of the story is in individual buildings. And the explainations are very good. Every time when I come to Tel Aviv I visit this place. Because there are (sadly but true) new exposures of the present. Example: the pieces of rockets who where fired in... More

The various hangers are arranged by theme: communications, uniforms, Chiefs of Staff, etc., are contain a lot of very interesting items. The outdoor areas display tanks and other vehicles.

This is one of the less interesting things I have done in Israel. A bit hard to find and then it's a collection of huts with different exhibits in each. Not a huge amount of English commentary (not a criticism--why should they?) But unless you are a military enthusiast I think you may find other more exciting museums elsewhere. Like... More

Some of the exhibits are kind of old and falling apart and many of the armored vehicles are rusting. However, if you like weapons, and history this is the place for you

This was a great outdoor exhibit of the history of the IDF weapons and engineering ingenuity since before 1948. You can use the audio tour or not. And while they say don't climb the vehicles and armaments, many kids do and it is a great photo op. But be careful a lot of the machines are rusty. My 14 y.o... More

We combined a visit with the Hagana Museum as we got a ticket covering several museums. The IDF History Museum has multiple huts each one related to different aspects, such as weapons, security, supplies, military leaders, hidden arms, communications and the various wars from the pre-Israel days to 1967 and 1973. There are a large display of military vehicles such... More

I had visited this museum before, but this time the visit was much longer and more detailed and an absolute must. There are numerous "huts" with different types of exhibits, such as one with cars, used to drive various Israeli prime ministers, and leaders. There are plenty of tanks and armoured vehicles to look at, as well as an ambulance... More

If anyone is an Israel History buff then this is a perfect place to go. You can spend the whole day just to go through everything that is in the museum. Impressed by their presentation of history, the photos and the actual guns, tanks, etc...they used for their wars in the past. I intend to go back to this next... More
