An oasis of green in the middle of central Tel Aviv, Gan Meir is the epitome of parks. The dog park at its King George exit attracts dog lovers and owners alike. A small area is fenced off for the locals to let their dogs off lead and enjoy a good run around. Meanwhile at the other end of the park is a large play area for kids and an outdoor gym. Between the two areas are lovely gardens and a large pond. The park is well shaded by the trees and with benches around the edges the park provides a fantastic quiet, shaded respite to the city outside the gates. The park is particularly busy on a Saturday and the afternoon with kids on their way home from school. Gan Meir also features a public library on wheels, a basketball court, ping pong tables.
The cafe in the park serves excellent light lunches and coffee. The park also houses the city gay and lesbian centre.

This is indeed a great place for kids and this is the main reason for awarding it 5 TRA Stars. Lots of green & shade, well cared for, convenient seating & benches, playground for kids. If you manage to find a parking spot, or are in the area - jump in.
There is also an Alma Cafe there, reasonably good for cool drink or coffee, good offering for vegans, I tasted the (normal) food and it was average.
BTW, on Friday afternoons there are dog adoption events. This can be an opportunity to adopt a dog but sometimes can be a bit inconvenient (dogs, barking) - not dangerous.

This park is quite a nice place to take a break in the middle of the city. There is plenty of shade, a free outdoor gym, a pond with fish, a coffee shop, and a playground for kids. Unfortunately, we stopped in on the way to Carmel market and the playground was inexplicably blocked off, which was a bit of a disappointment to my kids.

This is a lovely spot to rest from your sightseeing. Tel Aviv is a great city to view on foot thanks to the Promenade, the frequent benches and places like this. Green and peaceful and very dog friendly, which is useful as everyone seems to have a dog in Tel Aviv. Plenty of places to sit.

Nice park in the middle of Tel Aviv not far from the Dizengof mall. A very nice play ground for young children.

We stopped off here after walking around all morning. It is close to Itsak Rebin Square. Kids enjoyed running around, nice little pond in the centre and fun watching the dogs with their dog walkers. Good coffee shop opposite on George Street.

We came in this Rea to have lunch opposite this park and could help going inside . This mind blowing paradise for the dogs is a heart warming sight for anyone who loves dogs . There are adorable puppies in the cages ready for adaptions . A lovely place . Outside in 5he Park grown dogs can be seen having fun - running , playing and greeting each other . A true picture of the park and its ideals on which it is based . A unique place to discover . No entree fee . And , yes , the puppies here are for adaptions ! Rearward yourself . Check the opening / closing times .
