- Louis3105Gedera, Israel50 contributionsDisappointing and expensiveVery overpriced. I did the tour a decade ago and wanted to do it again since there's so been much restoration in Tel Aviv, and Dizengoff Circle has been returned to its former glory. Sadly Dizengoff Circle is not part of the tour, the introductory movie was dry and the 110 NIS per audio guide was worth half of that.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 January 2024

I recently saw the opening of a very unique and powerful art show on the 2nd floor by Vienna-born artist Andrea Morein. Images from Israel postal first day covers of the early 50s feature the then super-modern Bauhaus architecture expressing the striving of the birth of a re-newing nation. The exhibition is on show until June 6, 2014

We took the self-guided tour in English as the group tour only runs once a week. It offered a good introduction to Bauhaus architecture and an insight into Tel Aviv's history and evolution from a suburb of Jaffa into a bustling, cosmopolitan city. After the tour we started to notice Bauhaus architecture everywhere and to appreciate Tel Aviv's buildings as more than functional. If you have a couple of hours to spare and want to do something cultural whilst being outdoors, it's worth the 60 shekel fee for the map and audio-guide. If not the shop, like any good museum store, has some great books and design pieces to keep you entertained.

Tel-aviv has a lot of Bauhaus and Bauhaus style buildings. Many of the buildings are from 1930's, others are just new, that is why some info could helpful. Few are well preserved and others almost ruins. You can do a free guided tour, this is every friday 11 am (2012 can change, check the website). There is also an audio guide available at the bauhaus info centre on dizengoff St. We bought a map (59 NIS) and walked on our own, perfect on a sunny day and enjoyed the walk. There are too many buildings to see, so a tour is a good idea if you want details and info. The staff at the center is helpful and you can start the tour right there. If you like architecture, this is very inspiring. There are commercial tours possible, check on-line.

The items at the shop are great -- lots of high-design, low price items designed in Israel. Not much to the exhibit space, but they have maps for a self-guided tour of the Bauhaus buildings of Tel Aviv.

I have taken many architecture tours around the world and I believe this to be the most informative tour that I have ever taken. The guide knew the subject matter and articulately presented it.

The Bauhaus Center which is located in TA on Rehov Dizengoff was opened around 1999/2000 and is sort of a documentation center/ gift shop about the Bauhaus architecture in This wonderful city. There is a cooperation with
UNESCO to preserve Tel Aviv’s unique Bauhaus architecture as a treasure of World Heritage.
Besides of a library/bookstore it works as a gallery and hosts exhibitions about Bauhaus design/architecture and offers city tours with special architecture topics and themes.

Definitely worth doing the tour at 10am on Fridays. The guide was excellent. She is insightful and very knowledgeable about the Bauhaus style and White City / Tel Aviv. Thoroughly enjoyable for our whole group of architects and non-architects.
