As you go round the old city and get to the Jewish Quarter, it is worth taking a 5 to 10 minute look here to get some sense of Roman Jerusalem.

I don't know why this place have such high reviews. It is a corridor with some ancient columns and overpriced stores.

A great network of alleys filled with many varieties of shops in the midst of an ancient city. This is a bustling place with history all around you. You will certainly find some unique momento to take home with you somewhere in the Cardo. Beware...More

Adjacent to the Hurva Synagogue (also in TripAdvisor) is the Cardo. This is an enclosed shopping mini-mall with eateries and various stores for pottery, paintings, etc. may be purchased.

An ancient main street in the heart of Jerusalem Old town. You may think about how was the street life two thousands of years ago. It is also interesting how during the centuries the street level has changed (the current level is many meters higher).

This wide road stretched from Damascus Gate to Zion Gate in the Jewish Quarter. It was built by the Roman emperor Hadrian 50 years after the destruction of the Temple.built mainly for his soldiers.
