Knowing people sought burial here to be "first in line" for redemption when Christ returns is far more impressive than the site itself.

A great place for reflection and very moving. We walked past this area on the way to the Chuch of All Nations.

It's always very sacred to visit grave sites - here in Jerusalem I was interested to see the tradition of placing stones on a gave to remember a loved one.

It's amazing how unbelievably big this cemetery is. On your way walking down the mountain there are a few entrances.

This is a huge cemetary that covers a good portion of the Mt. of Olives. You can walk through it if you wish.

We walked through the cemetery on the way to the Via Dolorosa. Our guide told us of the significance of the pebbles on the graves and we observed a family making an annual remembrance visit.

Like any cemetery this one is a powerful reminder to all of us that the day will come when we too will come to the endow our earthly life.

I believe view of rows and rows of above ground burial places for this of the Jewish faith. Numerous stones could be seen on the tops of graves.
