In the middle of the city this literal breath of fresh air, highlights the importance of plants growing throughout the world and the possibilities of their growth in Israel, including native and foreign plant introductions. Of special interest is the beauty and attractiveness of the entrance.

The gardens are lovely but lacking any signage to provide basic information about what is growing. Paths are good for those with mobility issues. Nice place to go for walk in the city, in nature.

Truth be told, we did not make inside of the garden. We walked to Burla St, found Gate 1 closed, and proceeded to walk around the entire perimeter searching for the gate. No luck. The secret, it turns out, is to enter THROUGH the GAS STATION at the corner of Zalman Shneur and Ha-Rav Herzog (31.766895, 35.204357).

Although the Dinosaurs were fun for the children set in a part of the gardens and they enjoyed the map and questions they were given at the start. There was nothing in English a bummer and the terrain was very steep and almost impossible to navigate even with help in a manual wheelchair and the Gardens themselves at least the... More

My sister and I, two very Senior Citizens, set out today "for just an hour" at the Jerusalem Botanic Gardens. Well, we spent 3-1/2 hours there and just barely touched the surface. It was a free entrance day, thanks to a major bank in Israel that sponsors it each year. First we stopped by the pond, where we saw a... More

The botanical garden has an excellent variety of plants from around the world. Although parts of the garden were under construction it really did not affect our visit. There was just one area that was closed. Most of the plants are labeled with Latin genus and species as well as their Hebrew names.

In a very poor and run down state - a disgrace. Other than the lake and cafe there is no reason to visit here until someone gives the management a kick and reminds them that a botanical gardens are supposed to have well tended live plants - not look like a weedy cemetery

We were greatly disappointed in the JBG. The restaurant was bustling and good...had Greek salad, a milkshake and excellent bread. It is situated on a pond full of waterlilies. Quite nice. The garden itself is hugely disappointing. Most trees and plants are well-marked and the trails have some interesting explanatory signs. The plants, however, are mostly dead, the waterfall wasn't...
