About
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, also called the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, or the Church of the Resurrection by Eastern Christians, is a church within the Christian Quarter of the walled Old City of Jerusalem. It is a few steps away from the Muristan. The site is venerated as Golgotha (the Hill of Calvary), where Jesus was crucified, and is said also to contain the place where Jesus was buried (the Sepulchre). A trend among visitors to the spot (standing outside the Church) is to applaud loudly during the ringing of bells. This is to recognize the unique beauty of the Church and its unique history.

Amazing feeling being there.

We were there on a Sunday: mass started 6am and ended 7am.
The tomb opened right after the mass at 7am. People following the mass were the first to enter.

Absolutely no lines at this time. Me and my wife could enter there twice with a 2min. maximum line.

So the recommendation is to arrive early in the morning. Tomb opening time on Sunday: 7am. Mess start on Sunday: 6am.

Great experience to visit the tomb, the feeling of what if takes hold of you.

As you could imagine long line to visit the tomb with many people in line very disrespectful especially seeing the tomb is with in the holiest of churches.

Worth the experience and what, if you have time constraints maybe try to get their at opening time.

Just be respectful while visiting and lining up to see Christ Tomb.

Unfortunately, the lines were very long, and if you are on a tight schedule, you have to make the best of your time. We were not able to go in, but we saw the magnitude that cost millions to renovate from the outside. It's definitely a wow factor.

As a Jewish who wants to learn from and respect other religions, I thought it important to come here. As others have written, can be very busy. We were here late afternoon/early evening. The line to see the most holy places was an estimated 90-120 minutes.

But even when it's busy, you can walk around and see a lot in the church. There is not a lot of signage in English so if you want to know exactly what things are, you might want to purchase a tour.

The tomb is in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to traditions dating back to the 4th century, it contains two sites considered holy in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified,[2] at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, which is where he was buried and resurrected.

The tomb itself is a once in a lifetime spiritual experience however getting to it is terrible. The church is overrun with tourist and tour groups. I don't know why half of the people who go there are there in the first place. The pushing and trying to cut the line behaviours display a lack of Christianity at one of its most sacred sites. Those who organise this area also seem at times to have lost sight of the fact that they are working with people their brothers and sisters too. The officials will take the metal railing and squash people in to a race like animals. Be prepared to cue for a couple of hours. I heard guides warn not to take photos "if the old Orthodox Priest is there as he will scream at you If you take a photo " - seriously just obey the signs be respectful and don't take photos in the tomb! If there is a service in front of the tomb understand you are not going in until it is over. Turning up early 6am could work but services from our observations seemed to be under way by 6:30am and only those in particular pilgrim groups were being allowed in- we were not part of a group.

Sorry, but it is unlikely that Christ was crucified, died, was buried and resurrected in an area of perhaps a couple hundred feet. Many people visiting here push and shove one another and take selfies to encounter an area that is supposed to be sacred.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
FOR THEY ARE FALSE APOSTLES AND FALSE DECEITFUL WORKERS, POSING AS APOSTLES OF CHRIST. THERE IS NO MARVEL IN THIS; FOR IF SATAN DISGUISES HIMSELF AS THE ANGEL OF LIGHT, IT IS NO GREAT THING IF HIS MINISTERS ALSO POSE AS THE MINISTERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHOSE END SHALL BE ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.
1 Corinthians 10:21
YOU CANNOT DRINK THE CUP OF OUR LORD AND THE CUP OF DEVILS; YOU CANNOT BE PARTAKERS OF THE TABLE OF OUR LORD AND OF THE TABLE OF DEVILS.
COLOSSIANS 2:8
BEWARE LEST ANY MAN MISLEAD YOU THROUGH PHILOSOPHY AND VAIN DECEIT, AFTER THE TEACHING OF MEN , AFTER THE PRINCIPLES
OF THE WORLD, AND NOT AFTER CHRIST.

For those who hear the Holy Spirit do not be decieved by the wolves in shepards clothing and sheep's clothing. The pope Frances is the false prophet spoken about in Revaluations and the church of the Holy Sepulcher he handed over the evil one. Do not be decieved yes this is the Holy Site of my Lord Jesus Christ crucifixion but the church has fallen as warned about in Revaluations. The Holy elements including Holy water and holy oil and crosses whom the pope kissed, in kissing he tried to give over to the satan. Be warned many will be decieved by the false prophet.
Please seek the Holy Spirit council about this and pray diligently that God's will be done and wake up church, we are in the end days.

Of all the insanity that is the Old City in Jerusalem, this is by far the most insane spot. People bowing before a rock, kissing stones, and listening to slabs of limestone to hear Jesus' voice. It is the worst of all religious expression I have ever seen. Could not have been more horrified.

Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and Risen all in this one building!! The most important place on earth!! Go at 5am when it opens, it’s worth it! At least go before 8am, otherwise the crowds are too huge. Bring a coat. Spend as much time as you can!
