We stopped to see this model and spent some time really looking at it. It helped us see the relationship of the various places we had been in the city and understand where they were. The model is really amazing and work going to see.

I have seen many maps of 1st Century Jerusalem but to stand at this scale model provides insight and perspective no map can provide. It brings out details and highlights portion of 1st century Jerusalem that would otherwise be overlooked and made me ask more than once, "What is that?" about things that I have missed on maps. It is very impressive. Very much worth visiting.

The Second Temple Jerusalem Model gives a representation of the Second Temple and the City of Jerusalem before they were destroyed by the Romans. The model is made to scale; it is quite interesting, probably the best part is the model of the Second Temple. The model is popular, if you are visiting the Hebrew Museum or the Shrine of the Book it's worth a detour.

This model is a small-scale reproduction of Jerusalem at the time of the Second Temple. It is large, but not as large as the city was then. The reproduction of the Second Temple was quite large, compared to the rest of Jerusalem. Our guide was very helpful in pointing out the most prominent features. The model is adjacent to the Israel Museum.

Why is this a “must”? All of us have “pictures” in our mind of what Jerusalem looked like 2,000 years ago. This model helps to replace fiction with fact. Extremely well constructed. A great way to orient yourself to the old city of Jerusalem for the rest of your trip. I have been many times over many years. Never tire of visiting and always find new things I did not know. Start your visit in Jerusalem here!

This is a vast, detailed, and spectacular model of Jerusalem in the era of the Second Temple, and therefore of King Herod, Pontius Pilate, and Jesus Christ. It is the finest model of any city that I have ever seen. One can see clearly the location of the Second Temple on the top of Temple Miount (now the site of the Muslim Dome of the Rock), and also the palaces of both King Herod and the High Priest, the buildings of the Roman authorities, and the site of the cruxifiction of Jesus. This wonderful model will be of great interest and meaning to believers of both the Jewish and the Christian religions, and also to secular people who will see what a magnificent city Jerusalem was at the height of the Roman Empire (and before the Romans destroyed it in 70 C.E.).

This is a great site to visit. Try to go with a guide who can explain the events in New Testament Jerusalem with regard to the Book of Acts.

This is a great, outdoors, exhibit that shows in detail what the Second Temple Jerusalem looked like. Highly recommended.
