Located only about a 20 minute walk from old city, I wouldn’t catch a taxi and walk to mount olive as along the way several attractions to see and do.

Once their Mount Olive offers stunning views with historical cemeteries beneath you.

I went just before dusk and got the best of views during day light hours then with sunset and seeing Jerusalem with lights on also very good.

For me probably top 3 things to do in Jerusalem.

The roads are pretty narrow. I love the beautiful stone. The views are breathtaking. It would be nice if there were more plaques with information.

This was our first stop on visiting Jerusalem and it really helps to see the view of the whole city first and to understand it with a seasoned guide who can explain everything.

Mount Olive is a significant place in the history and is a wonderful place to view the Old City. We came here with a tour bus so we skipped the walking on the cobblestone road and uneven steps.

Our tour guide took us here by bus from Jaffa gate describing as the place for the second coming of Jesus. From here it is all a downhill walk.

Peaceful place, but it is just a garden, nothing specific. Without history, this would like any other park. Anyway, once you are in town, it's good to take a quick visit.

This is a major spiritual attraction and expectations were high. The olive grove itself was fairly quiet but it could have been anywhere. The trees are well tended and it is peaceful. Somewhere for contemplation.

This is the best place to see the Old City of Jerusalem from a distance and get an explanation for how it is organized. It makes a visit to the city more meaningful.
