This is one of the most interesting and oldest churches in the world,. Even if you are not a religious person you will find the layers of history and its centuries of mixed structures fasinating. PJ Barker author of the novel Changing Pillion.

The history of the Church is pretty crazy - i especially loved all the stories about different Christian churches plotting against one another to take over.

I don't think you can stay in the church itself. There is plenty of accommodation around there although I suggest staying outside the old city.
