This is a small canyon and it has multiple ways to see it. Do both the top and the bottom to see different views. It is absolutely gorgeous at sunset time with red rocks reflecting the sun. Bring camera!

Really great place. The views are unbelievable, the path is not that difficult. You can choose between two tracks - green or black (or go both as we do ;)). The bus is about 9 AM, then about 15 min walk and you are there. Check carefully the returning bus (we missed the bus because there was different information in the internet and on the timetable at the station).

One of the prettiest things I've seen so far. My family and I booked a jeep tour and had a tour guide with us. Walking through the canyon is so fun and a great opportunity to take pictures. We also climbed the canyon and the view was so pretty. Definitely a must see!

Beautiful place. Take bus 392 from Central Bus Station. It is the cheapest way to get there. First bus leaves at 9am. Only tourists and Young soldiers use it:) It takes around 25 minute to get to the Red Canon bus stop. Than 15 min walk to the entrance to Red Canon. I recomend to use green trail and walk further than the sign that leads you back - you will leave most of people behind.

I just love the view and the experience and its excellent and nice walk as well. Dont recommend this for someone who has trouble to walk and climb, but kids can do it quite well (not the youngest ones though). Its an adventure.

Things to know -

The ground is a deep mix of shale, shingle and sand. It dawned on us why - this canyon is formed by wind and WATER. Yes we were walking on what is essentially the river bed. If walking on sand for distances is not your thing maybe think twice.

Not one of the blogs or pages I’ve read have mentioned the flies. There are soooo many and we were plagued, to the point of thinking about leaving. It’s not just buzzing in your face eyes, ears everywhere but if you just leave them they bite.

There is a hell of a lot of garbage left around, mainly on the beginning stretch but we saw quite a bit further on too - hundreds of tissues, bags, cups, cans, bottles etc.

If you can get around all of that you’ll have a fabulous time. we got there at 8.30 am and it was already hot, The walk takes about 75 mins and can be challenging for short people but it was amazing fun and we loved the clambering up and down both on the green and black trails. Go, get dusty and sweaty, have a great time and be back in time for lunch and a lie by the pool.

It’s free and if you have a car super easy, drive in to the first parking area but don’t stop, 1 mile along a really bumpy dirt trail and you’re in the actual car park with maps and guides. If you get a bus you’ll need to walk that extra mile each way.

Red mountains, stunning views, a hiking trail with light elements of climbing and exposure to the stunning beauty of a desert. Don't miss it! The hiking route takes about an hour and a half and is circular.

Just half an hour from Eilat is a lovely place in the desert. The red canyon is a wonderful place to visit. Walking between the tight walls of it gives you wonderful sights and the area around is absolutely nice for a walk too. We saw plenty of rock hyrax. For the walk directly in the canyon you should be well on foot.
