If you are visiting Ancient Ephesus and get a chance to tour the Terrace Houses, do so. They are well worth a visit, as they are extremely well preserved, and give a good idea how the wealthier citizens lived. The houses are located inside Ancient...More

The terrace houses were under repair and not open during our visit. That is all there is to say about it.

It’s worth the money, you get to feel the different life of upper and lower living of Rome. Probably the few places you could actually feel you are in a actual Rome building. !

The frescoes and mosaics, still in place after centuries, are wonderfully restored. Be warned -- you must walk up many stairs.

Costs a bit extra for the ticket into the Terrace houses, but it is well worth it to see how wealthy Romans lived. The ceramic tiled floors are amazing, especially after all these centuries.

The Terrace Houses are, literally, in the middle of the site, so you will have to purchase entry to Ephesus to visit them.
