Situated in a nice tranquil environment; there is an outdoor church in the same premise, and even has a pool for baptism; the Virgin Mary's house is rebuilt over the original one, which was destroyed and is now under the rebuilt structure.

The drive up to the location is worthwhile. It was surprising to me that Mother Mary spent her final days here (and not totally convinced that is the case) but it is worth the trip and seeing it.

I am not a Christian. but this place was a best place , I was been . you make sense the god is here . you make sense being specific. especially when you go to chapel When I go out. Sit on the long wall facing the chapel and the woods behind it. I open my hands in quiet prayer.... More

Highly recommend you book the group tour where this place is included in the package as travelling there by public transport might be very tedious. The house itself is small but secluded in natural area appropriate for tranquil and religious fulfillment. The altar in the house is simple yet magnificent. It is indeed one of the most interesting religious places... More

Its a long ride out of town and up a steep hill. Even on a slow day you will stand in line for 20 or 30 minutes. It is a pilgrimage, what i enjoyed the most were the notes/prayers, mostly on tissue or napkins, tucked into the wall as you exit. If you are near Ephesus do go!

This place holds significant religious meaning as it is believe to the residence of the Virgin Mary till her Assumption. The site is also visited and venerated by Catholics as well as Muslims and Christians. The feeling of peace is all around the premise and while the chapel is relatively small, it is beautiful. There is a wishing wall where... More

So lovely and peaceful place. Inside her house is spiritually loaded. The Catholics keep the place but for Abrahamic religions it is the same Mary or Maryam we know. I was reminded to be thankful for having my mother. I felt God when I was inside :)

It is a beautiful little place, where you can feel the peace settled all around! Take some paper and pen if you'd like to leave a prayer on the wall right in front of Her house .. truly a holy place!
