About
The cinili Hamam, located in uskudar, was built by Kosem Sultan in 1640. For many years it remained closed and almost forgotten, but in 1964 it was transferred to private ownership and reopened its doors to customers. Known for its historically important tilework, it is also one of the hamams in istanbul, which has preserved its original structure.

The area
Neighbourhood: Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.

This is the authentic experience! Beautiful domed room with tiles and marbles and the light shining down from hexagonal slots in the dome. No English spoken but we communicated effectively! Brisk, efficient, thorough scrubbing with great charm! I've never been cleaner in my life!Strongly recommend - there are no frills of a luxury spa for tourists - this is the no-nonsense real deal!

The team is governed by local Turkish women...they are very welcoming ...their only downside I would say is about the average cleanliness of the lieu...could improve but a very nice experience if u want to experience a local hammam with good local prices

Hamam is an old historical relaxing and toxic cleaning procedure, so if you want to feel the whole sense it is better to live it in an authentic place, from the experts. This 400 years old hamam belongs and is operated by the same family the last 3 generations. Give to yourself a great gift and visit Cinili hamam. I traveled through the centuries for more than an hour and for one third of the money of other baths. Definitely is an one in a lifetime experience.

I visited this Hamam yesterday and it was a very friendly, welcoming and authentic experience. It was fairly priced for a sauna, scrub and bubble massage at 250TL. I have visited many touristy hamams and this was by far the most authentic as it is a local one in Çinili.

The staff are welcoming and will guide you to where you need to be. The Hamam is split into two completely separate male and female areas for complete privacy.

Woman and men have separate entrances in this hamam, on the Asian dide of Istanbul, which was built in 1640.
We came over by ferry, which only took around 15 minutes and got a short taxi ride then there.
The receptionist (i think the owner) was very friendly and helpful.
The scrub and rubdown was very good and I loved the bubble wash afterwards.
Super value as it only cost €24 in total for my partner and myself and she had an oil massage too (not available for men).

We were very happy with the visit. The staff gave us a great hamam experience. Prices are fair. A small tip is appreciated.

This Turkish Bath is probably one of the best deals in town, at 130 lira full service , it can’t get much better than that, there was someone that spoke English and he was very kind, he explained everything to me prior, Sauna-Scrub-Bath executed by experienced Turkish men. It’s not far from Kadikoy, out of the tourist areas but you can hop on the ferry which is very cheap and get there in less than half hour.

If you are looking for a n authentic Turkish bath, this is the place, it is a historical site built in the 17th century along with the nearby mosque.

We went as couples but the men and women are separated. Once you enter they give you a private room to change your cloths and place your belongings and close it and keep the key.

The first step is the Sauna, you stay for about 10-15 min. Then the rubbing begins, you feel like you have never been this clean. Then you get more rubbing with alot of soap and massage a bit painful but worth it

The last step is to rest and get a cold drink.

The full package cost 130 Turkish lira , around 16 USD.

Important advice , dont eat after the bath you will need to sleep and you will be relaxed to a point that you just need to lay down and get a nap.

How to get to there:

From emenuno take a ferry to uskudar then take a taxi it cost around 15 lira.

Or you can ride the marmary line from serkaci to uskudar and then a taxi

Best time to go 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Easily accessible via ferry or metro depending on where you are, this is one of the most authentic Turkish baths I have been to. Don’t expect 5 star luxury but DO expect to experience the friendliest and most genuine hosts, a real Turkish massage and a good cup of tea after. Everything was better than I expected and all for less than a quarter of the price of tourist based bath houses. Couldn’t recommend more for those seeking authenticity and experience. Be prepared for a real kese and massage!

Hidden away from the major tourist distarctions of Istanbul you can find this lovely little traditional hamam. It was a refrshing experience after walking up all the hills to get there, and it was everything I hoped for.
