After being for three days in the city and seeing all the major attractions and monuments, the Istanbul Modern Museum was a very pleasant surprise! Very innovative, interesting, smart and with some truly interesting videos and installations, it really shows the modern face of Turkey....More

The museum is bigger than we expected and quite nice. They have a large number of documentary/multimedia installations and that made us very happy. The photography exhibit "Close Quarters" was nice too but those keep changing. The permanent exhibit on the first floor is intriguing....More

Istanbul Modern is the first and only modern art museum in Istanbul. It opened in 2004 and is home to modern Turkish artists and Istanbul fashion week. It is a great space with a delicious restaurant and beautiful view of the river.

I thought the Istanbul Modern museum was a good stop, definitely worth visiting. For a city that has been around for over 1000 years, this museum gives a completely different picture of Istanbul. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy
is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at
the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most
historically significant area, it’s currently one of
the most happening parts of town as well. Here street
vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks
of the Horn where the views of major attractions
across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions,
