I can never forget the deep feelings when relaxing in this rose garden, surrounded by picnicking families, women with children, and lovers, dog-walkers around me... It was my last day in Istanbul so I wanted to meditate a little and connect with the "istanbul-vibe"... I was on my way t India, and Turkey is a good preparation for a European... More

This park had some of the best flower beds I have ever seen. We were lucky as we visited on April 20th when the tulips were at their absolute peak. Breathtaking.

An average experience that does not need to be on your list if you are short on time. The park leads to the Topkapi Palace but it is pretty run of the mill and touted to be more than it is.

Gulhane is accessible by tram, only 1 stop from Sultanahmet tram station, a huge park with beautiful Tulips during April, a place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the park.

Large park that was originally part of the Topkapi complex. Large trees and flower beds. You can see the rear of Topkapi's walls. Stunning views of the Marmara Sea and Golden Horn with views across to Galata Tower. Very interesting Column of the Goths at the rear of the park.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
