Neighbourhood: Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.

What an amazing place!
It's really amazing. A beautiful place during the day and magical at night with all those colorful lamps. It's an old madrassa where you can now taste a delicious Turkish tea and smoke a shisha. A must see in Istanbul. I especially recommend the apple tea.

I'm afraid I am a hookah addicted.. I ve smoked almost all hookah shop's in Istanbul. I must admit that this is far better than the others..But I should remind that in this complex there are three hookah shops..The best one is called Anadolu narghile when you enter the complex from second left.. They have nice tea's my recommendations would be sage tea with cinnamon and ginger and the second one called "cadi kazani" which is an infusion of cinnamon ginger hibiscus rose and hünnap (a traditional dry fruit)..

I have smoked alot of argileh/nargile/hookah in my short time on this earth and this is without a doubt the finest I have ever smoked. I went there every night of my 4 nights in Istanbul. The bowl would last for hours without changing flavor or having to replace the bowl. Always smooth and thick. The tea is delicious as well. I would get one pipe and about four or five teas and pay around $9 USD....(the tea is $0.25 each...)

I cannot say enough good things about this place. As other reviews have indicated, it is a bit hidden/difficult to find, but totally worth it. Go where the locals go.

My wife found out abt this place when she was doing some research for out trip to Turkey....and boy were we in for a treat! The most authentic place to enjoy your hooka after a long tiring day. Located near the Grand Bazaar....this place is not hard to find. The staff were super friendly and very accomodating. And the ambience made us even more relaxed. We enjoyed our hooka and turkish tea very much...and learned some Turkish phrases along the way from some of the friendly staffs. Definitely a place to go if you happen to be around the area. You won't be disappointed.

When I was planning to travell to Istanbul, I was looking forward to visit this kind of places, and I was really happy to find it.
We visited it twice during our 6 days in Istanbul.
At Corlulu Ali Pasa Medresesi you can smoke a good shisha and drink different kind of teas (turkish tea, mint tea, apple tea) in an authentic environment, with colourful lamps and carpets, in a 300 years old building, in the company of lot of local people and tourists as well. Unique atmosphere, really amazing, perfect place to relax.
The prices are good, a tee costs 1,5 TL and we payed 17 TL for the shisha.

It's hard to find an entrance to this nargile-cafe, but it smells on the whole area! Found it by the smell :) Very relaxing place, many local people and nice turkish tea. Must visit even if you don't smoke

This is a nice, relaxing place,Very central, close to tram station and grand bazaar. But in beetween themselves they have a secret competition for catching costumer. And this is quait annoying!in each time i was there i had felt that!
And that ruins all the atmosphere.i would prefer more welcoming staff!Because of that i dont realy recommend this place!

I say so in the title because this is a 300 year old, most authentic place to smoke a nargile(hookah).
You might easily miss out on it because its entrance is nothing fancy but once you are inside you are amongst an oasis of locals and tourists who have escaped from the hustle of their life to relax and loosen up.Enjoy your nargile with aromatic fruity tobaccos or order a Turkish tea served in a tulip shaped-glass and just indulge yourself in the mystical ambiance of this place.

We went on a food tour and as our final destination, we ended up at Corlulu Ali Pasa Medresesi - the bubbly pipe place. I must admit, if we had just seen the entrance to this place, me and my husband both agreed that we probably wouldn't have gone in - for the simple reason - we saw no other tourists in there and it seemed a little intimidating, only because of the "unknown" factor. DO GO IN & TRY. It really is great fun to try the different flavours. It's relaxing place to go, and a wonderful building to see in itself.

This place is by far the best ghalyoon place in Istanbul. In my week there, I must have tried a dozen places but this was certainly the best. Admittedly, it gets a little crowded at times, but totally worth it.
