A former site of the military barracks as well as burial grounds, Taksim Gezi Park is a green space surrounding Taksim Square but easily gets mistaken for Taksim Square. Part of the area has been pedestrianised and some of it is now at risk of being redeveloped.

This park is located at Taksim square. You can walk down the road from Sisli or Nisantasi. You can rest here at the outdoor cafes and watch the passer bys. It is crowded in the afternoons and evenings. You can continue your way down to Istiklal Caddesi from here. It is a nice spot to stop by.

It's a very great place for walking and staying. You will enjoy listening to street bands and their music. Also you will be amazed with the huge number of birds around you !

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Istiklal Caddesi and Taksim Square and relax for a while in this park located next to the monument in Taksim Square. You can sit on a bench, sipping coffee or a cold drink depending on the weather and then be off to your next place to visit in Istanbul. Beware of the... More
