Neighbourhood: Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

Great location, close to Taksim
Clean, nice amenities, great view from the room, overlooking the Bosphorus. Very friendly staff. What I would like to highlight is the extra attentiveness and helpfulness of the reception personnel. Mentioning Halay and Halil. Upgrade done without even us asking. A very kind gesture. They made our stay memorable. It’s the personal touch that makes the brand appealing.
Thank you, a must stay in hotel.

Small but nice park, very close to Taksim square, when you want to take a break or have a quick breakfast before starting with your day, it would be nice to visit and sit in the green space under a tree.

This park is one of the few remaining green areas in Beyoglu.
We understand it has quite a history, including having been an Armenian cemetery and an artillery barracks and drill ground apparently.
Plans to covert this park into a shopping mall were thwarted in 2013 following a confrontational protest.
It may not be the nicest park, but it gives local people and visitors the opportunity for a stroll in a green area.

It's getting safer to walk around here because the police cars are patrolling. So many people were walking and taking pictures here. There are so many shops near here, so you don't have to take a lot of precaution as long as you take care of your belongings.

This is far less interesting compared to nearby Maçka Parkı. It is a levelled area with some trees but no real attractions or views. People sitting n the park can be shady.

It’s a must see with big crowds, lots of shops and restaurants, things stay open late. But with all the scammers it can take the fun out of it. It’s worth a walk at night one night of your vacation

Took a tram to Kabatas station, then a funicular to Taksim Square. It was such a beautiful experience for our children, their first time to take a funicular.
Taksim Square was nice and clean after a short drizzle. We took pictures with the Revolution Monument as background. I can imagine the rallies, and protest movements in this square.

The value of Taksim can only be enhanced by creating more Gezi Parks, or by at least extending the park's surface. It is no good to create more and bigger buildings there. The park is a lovely contrast to what you can see in its near surroundings, especially in spring when the flowers start to bloom and the trees get green leaves again.

Nice place to walk and reach other tourist areas of Istanbul. You start from here and off to Estiqlal Road. You pass so many shops. Shop till u drop. Then you can stop by for baklava and turkish coffee and continue ur walking journey to Galata Tower.
