Galata tower is a great place to visit for newcomers to the city, it has an amazing view, especially close to sunset, but the line will be much longer then. Go during the week for a shorter line, and not suggested for older people, or...More

Best place to overlook the beautiful city and the surrounding water. You see all the bridges and moseques and the view is breathtaking. Must go

Really hidden in narrow streets! Watch out for street vendors, they tried to shoe-shine my sneakers for $10 each sneaker! Though really beautiful, do expect very long lines. There are cafes all around so you can take your time. I'd suggest you get up here...More

There is an elevator so no need to climb the stairs all the way to the top. Amazing city views and worth the wait in the line.

Great views of the entire city, stunning in the morning or sunset. Easy to get by tram across the bridge and the short metro up to the hill, and then a short walk. Normally very busy place but you can wait the best time in...More

Walking with baby stroller is enjoying yet challenging. Along the way to the tower many shops like souvenir and restaurants. Nice views.

Nice place to get an incredible view of Istanbul. You might get the same view from hotel rooftops etc but doing it from the tower adds something to the experience. The surrounding area is charming and don't pass having some tea or simply a beer...More

For the best elevated views of historic section of Istanbul, head to Galata Tower. Walk or take the tram across the bridge and take the short metro (Tunel) up the hill to walk down 400 meters for a little easier walk. There is likely to...More

I wandered there by chance during a visit in 2007 on my own, had some tea in of the adjacent cafes and simply loved the neighborhood. Went there again with my boyfriend this year - still lovely but has Beine more touristic... maybe I was...More

This place is a must-visit definitely, but a little too over-priced, I think. The views it offers of Istanbul are amazing :) Maybe that makes it worth the ticket price :)

There is a cafe and also there is a Restaurant. I believe you will not be requiring a reservation prior as most of the time its empty. But in case you can inquire at the reception at the bottom of Galata

Was around 20TL. We did not go up, but it could be nice nighttime to see the other part of Istanbul, the old city with the mosques.
