A beautiful area containing many of the major landmark sites and embassies, chic hotels, restaurants and waterfront walkway which was reclaimed beyond the ancient city walls.

If you're going to the Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque, you will wander through this district. Like any big city, lots of tourists, but beautiful sights and rich history.

Loved the area, architecture and the streets around. Go from The Hagia Sophia through the park to Sultanahmet, visit the blue mosque. (Sure make sure you're covered when you enter the mosque) and go through the mosque gardens up the street walking all the way...More

For me, visiting Istanbul is worthless without going to SultanAhmet area. Beautiful place full of historical sites, restaurants, coffee shops and nice traditional stores and markets. Everything you need is available, great location with respect to public transportation and to other touristic places.

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere
stroll of each other – and all set around the site of
an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an
overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a
prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the

There are some drivers, but all depends on personal knowledge, try to check with someone who visited before and they will help in this regards

There is plenty of hotel in Sultanahmet with amazin view of the Blue Mosque and Bosphorus behind. But you will probably need to ask for a room in a top of the building to be sure to have nice view.
