This enormous palace was the Imperial residence of Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. Although much of the palace is not accessible, the daily tours of the Harem are of great interest to tourists.

The palace has nice view to Istanbul and bosphorus. The entrance fee is 40 lira and the Haram entrance is 25 lira in extra if you want to visit.

Some of the areas were closed to tourists. The campus is spread out and doesn't feel like a palace. The last rooms visited, however, were very impressive with the tile work and views. Still worth the price of admission.

Even the kids are not very interested still should be seen with them, all historical places. You need a lot of time to look in to deeply, not a work for 20 minutes. should visit if you have time, minimum 2 hours

As stated before 40 liras for the palace and 25 liras for the harem. If you have limited time, skip Harem, palace is nicer, but again if no time, else do both. it is worth it.
